Rope: 1" white twisted polyester, chosen for UV resistance and a long life outdoors.
How it's sized: each rope is your ceiling height plus 5 feet. With the swing hanging about a foot off the floor, that leaves about 6 feet per rope for knots and fine-tuning the height.
